WHAT IS THE ANSWER?
Gouache

This painting represents the majority of us who are either a pupil or an employee, chained to a desk and regarded as insignificant by those in authority.

The figure puts his hand up eagerly in the hope that he will be noticed.
He is blind, dumb, deaf and has vacant eyes, The clock, seen through the window also has a blank face. He wears a dunces hat and a clown's ruff, he represents the millions of nobodies in society. He won't get the opportunity to either ask or answer the question.

There are a number of repeated shapes in this painting, especially cones and spheres.

the original painting has been sold
but good quality prints are available.
